Wedding Photographer Behind the Scenes // 2013 Snapshot

This year was an amazing one for ALP! I’m so beyond thankful to all the beautiful couples I worked with in 2013! It’s always fun at the end of the year to revisit the “behind the scenes” picture folder that I compile throughout the season! Totally goofy moments, moments where I didn’t realize I was in the frame and totally photobombed, & moments where I look back and remember thinking “I am so blessed to be here right now, photographing this beautiful wedding!” Thank you to my awesome second shooters for capturing these moments for me! Enjoy a fun behind the scenes look! Cheers to an amazing year!

This was one of my favorite veil shots of the year! Oh hello, in the forest! 8 hours of traveling in one day for Zack and Renee’s day-the weather held out for us and we were SO excited! This was that “yay! We got through all the photos without rain!” moments!Garrett wanted to wear lime green, and since he wasn’t able too, they did this surprise photo of lime green socks to surprise Allison with! This is like a where’s Waldo shot! Shooting across the pool of Genesa’s wedding dress hanging off the side of the hotel! It’s one of the most unique dress shots of the year! Side note: My second shooter was totally spotting the dress but hiding on the balcony!Sometimes I get super super close to bushes/trees/flowers to get the shot I’m looking for! One time this season I did that, and then got stung BAD on my arm by a bumblebee during the ceremony! Ouch. And then when you photograph an amazing wedding photographer’s wedding in Mexico. Of course we share the camera! 😉 Look closely..do you see the camera on my finger? 🙂Photographer’s dream day!And of course we can’t forget to capture all the “guest” photographers! And it’s really awesome when resort employees help us hang dresses in unique locations!

Oops! Photobomb! Best thing? When members of the bridal party help me achieve awesome “veil flowing in the wind shots!” Literally this groomsmen threw the veil then jumped down below my camera just in time for me to snag the shot! Score! An in-between hectic season and even more hectic season Amanda Bailey Photography came to see me and we mentored LaRessa Marie Photography from Texas! Hello gorgeous lighting! If you’ve followed my work a while you probably know that I like to shoot through things, so of course, LaRessa is shooting through these flowers! The end result was gorgeous!
First Look! Yay!During mentoring at an Hannah and Chris’ engagement session, we were “testing the light” so LaRessa snagged these of me! This is my “I’m SO stinking excited to be photographing a wedding in Mexico today” face!Oh don’t mind me, keep on getting the tan on! This. was. so. awesome!
