Rob Loves Stefanie | Air Force Wedding | Tacoma Wedding Photographer

Stefanie and Rob got engaged on Easter. Rob was in the midst of planning for an uncoming deployment. They decided they would wed before he left the states. A week before the wedding I got the sweetest email from Stefanie seeing if I was available for a beautiful wedding ON an Air Force plane! I was so excited that I was available. Their story was so sweet and as a military wife, I can understand and completely appreciate planning your wedding quickly, and knowing the importance of photography, I knew the images would be so so special to Stefanie (and Rob!) especially during the deployment.

The day was completely magical. They had a super intimate ceremony with Stefanie’s Mom, Brother & two close friends, their officiant, and me! I was, and still am, so very honored to have been there to document such a special day for Stefanie and Rob. I was elated that Stefanie allotted tons of time for portraits with Rob, it really was a photographer’s dream! She hand made paper airplanes with love notes on them, champagne glasses with their sweet nicknames for each other on them, cake plates with Mr. &. Mrs. Newsome on them! Her garter was the cutest, complete with an Air Force pendant on it & her bouquet was gorgeous. All made by the Bride! I was so impressed! Stefanie had a penny in her shoe, with the year her parents got married on it. She stitched “love you dad” on the inside of her dress, to lay right on her heart, & the material was from one of her dad’s work shirts. They met at the Swiss in Downtown Tacoma, Rob proposed to Stefanie at the Swiss, and they were kind enough to let us take photos IN the Swiss at the exact some pool table where Stefanie and Rob first met, and later got engaged!

Photographing a wedding INSIDE an airplane has to be one of the most unique experiences ever. I love that Stefanie and Rob stayed true to themselves. They had mini paratrooper figures that they got from the Museum shop on base, and their guests through them in the air in leu of rice. Loved it! After the ceremony Rob, Stefanie and their guests went over to the plane museum where they shared a champagne toast, a sweet cake cutting, and more portraits! The cherry blossoms were gorgeous and absolutely perfect for photos.

The entire day Stefanie and Rob laughed and joked, giggled with excitement. It was truly an amazing day. Stefanie and Rob, I am so happy for you! Thank you for choosing me to photograph your wedding. I hope this deployment flies by, and in the meantime you’ll have these photos to look back on your special day!  (check below to see all the awesome vendors!)
