Welcome to the Groom’s Guide to Wedding Day Part 2- the First Look! First look is a special time on your wedding day where you and your bride get to see each other in your attire for the first time! Traditionally this was done during the ceremony and the first look would occur while the bride was walking down the aisle. Now more commonly we set aside a time before the ceremony, after getting ready. There are so many benefits to a first look, but mainly, it gives you an opportunity to share a moment with just your bride. From a photographer stand point, it gives you more relaxed time, and, you can actually go enjoy your cocktail hour! Amanda and I will find a location and have you (the groom) waiting for your bride.  If you decide to do a first look on your wedding day its an incredible moment.

Amanda and I will take the time to arrive early to your venue to pick the best spot for lighting, background, weather and any and all factors that make your first look an unforgettable moment.

One of the elements to having an amazing first look is to tailor it to you and your significant other. It can be in a private or public setting with your closet friends/family watching from afar. Amanda and I will be there to document the moment, but from a distance-helping you feel more in the moment.

The biggest piece of advice I can give is that your natural expression is the best expression, so if you feel the need to cry tears of happiness let them flow, or if a big cheesy smile is in order make it the biggest! This is your moment to see each other and visually express to each other why you are there.
