Hi friends! Welcome to our blog, a place where we share our favorites from weddings days, tips and a glimpse into our everyday life. So glad you're here!
This post is a tear jerker. Well, at least it is for me. It’s 2:30 am on Maddux’s 1st birthday and I can’t sleep! I keep thinking about how fast the year flew by. How I wish we could go back to this time exactly one year ago. My mom told me it flies by. Heck, everyone tells me “enjoy it, it flies by.” Ugh, it really does. Maddux is the light of our life. He makes everything fun, exciting, busy, full of light, full of love, full of laughter and full of memories. This literally took hours to put together, and I’m sure I missed dozens of my favorite images. Lets just say Maddux went from not caring about the camera, to absolutely BEAMING for it! Yah, he knows his Mommy is a photographer I’m sure of it 😉 And, he love love loves his baby cameras so guess what? His 1st birthday is themed “oh snap, I’m one! 12 Months in a flash, camera themed!” Complete with hand made wooden baby cameras, camera cookies, tons of teal, mint, gray and cameras galore. In the morning we’ll play, take cake smash pictures and play. Because that’s what 1 year olds do! Someday maybe Maddux will read this post and think I’m super cool for posting it 🙂
Maddux is:
Full of life. Loves his sippy cup and now whole milk. He loves blueberry waffles and banana for breakfast, thinks its funny to drop his food on the floor, laughs when I tell him “no,” is absolutely obsessed with the movie “Up” (maybe that will be next years birthday theme). He crawls the house and stands to everything and soon will walk but I’m not ready for that yet! He hates bibs, is so intrigued by the outdoors, loud sounds and crowds of company. He’s fascinated by the airplanes that fly super close to the new house, would do anything for a dried yogurt bite, graham cracker or gold fish and right now is called “snaggle tooth.” He has 1 top tooth, 2 bottom teeth and that second top may just pop through by the end of the day! He won’t wear shoes or socks, thinks it’s funny to turn the fireplace fan on/off/on/off and frequently talks to Siri. I think she should say “hello maddux” instead of “hello amanda.” Daddy calls him Turkey, Momma calls him Bubba or Mad. His friends call him MadBrad. He frequently skypes with his Grandma in Oklahoma, thinks he can reach through the iphone to talk to Daddy and smiles at anyone and everything. He’s a water kid already, and would nose dive into it if I’d let him. His hair is so blonde that he has to wear sunscreen on his scalp almost always outside. He’d spend the whole day in the Ergo if I’d let him, has a love affair with his blankey and sleeps a solid 12 hours a night. He waves, motions “I love you” says Momma, Dadda, Ba Ba and hi, and my friend Amanda swears he said thank you the other day! He’s been on an airplane, a train, already made his first move and already discovered his birthday presents that after this post, I WILL wrap! We love him to pieces! Happy Birthday Son!
