Hi friends! Welcome to our blog, a place where we share our favorites from weddings days, tips and a glimpse into our everyday life. So glad you're here!
When I sat down to write this blog post, I had a hard time coming up with the words to truly express how much this sweet family means to me. Several months ago Ali called me to see if it was a possibility at all for me to come to Texas to photograph her vow renewal in the Spring. Thursday, May 9th, they’d be celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary. Ali and David never had the “big wedding.” In fact, they said “I do” in a lawyers office and then went out for pizza! But this was the year that they were going to make it happen. To say I was honored to be asked to photograph their big day was a complete understatement and I think I squealed a bit when I opened my calendar to see that I had the dates available!
Ali and I first met when Steven was stationed in Texas (back where this whole business began!) and Ali and I connected on Facebook! She shot my first Texas weddings with me. I remember when we photographed a wedding at the local VFW (yup!) and I remember thinking how much she made me laugh. Ali has this hilarious and incredible way of doing impersonations. She lights up a room and makes everyone feel at home. She has such a joyful, god-fearing heart and is the most amazing Mom to her FIVE beautiful kiddos.
Together David and Ali fit together like we imagine couples should. Their bond is incredible and 16 years later and they’re still the couple that loves each other fearlessly and without reservation. I am so thrilled for them, that they were able to have the wedding they always deserved, and in such a beautiful way that really reminds us all what love and marriage is really about.
Ok, whew! I made it through! Ali and David’s vow renewal took place at the most incredible barn in Decatur, Texas called the “big white barn”. It’s definitely a photographers dream barn location! The “Big White Barn” with fields and fields of wild flowers (I love Spring in Texas!) was the perfect place. Their church community, friends and family helped put together all the incredible florals, food and decor. Everything was seriously perfect. I laughed, smiled and cried (happy tears) throughout the day. Photographing their wedding was a highlight of my career. Ali and David, I’m truly so honored that you asked me to photograph this day. I love your family so much!
